What is Field Day?
ARRL Field Day is the single most popular on-the-air event held annually in the US and Canada. Where each year, more than 35,000 radio amateurs gather with their clubs, groups or simply with friends to operate from remote locations. Field Day is a picnic, a campout, practice for emergencies, an informal contest and, most of all, FUN!
Field Day Objective:
To work as many stations as possible on any and all amateur bands (excluding the 60, 30, 17, and 12-meter bands) and to learn to operate in abnormal situations in less than optimal conditions.
BARS Field Day:
The Bolingbrook Amateur Radio Society (BARS) always sets up our Field Day Operations just as if we are in a REAL Emergency. Wed deploy our antennas quickly and get our radio gear and people up and "On-The-Air" as quickly as possible!
When is Field Day?
The ARRL Field Day is always held on the 4th full weekend of June.
Field Day Hours of Operation:
Field Day Begins on Saturday at 1800 UTC = 1 PM CDT Local Time
Runs 24 hours until Sunday at 2059 UTC = 12:59 PM CDT Local Time
BARS Field Day Schedule:
BARS - Field Day Setup: 9:00 AM - Saturday, June 22
BARS - Field Day Runs: 1 PM - Saturday -through- Sunday - 1 PM
BARS - Field Day Teardown: 1-3 PM - Sunday, June 23
BARS - Field Day Location: Meyer Park, 267 West Briarcliff Rd,
Bolingbrook, IL 60440
BARS Field Day Site Location: Meyer Park 243 West Briarcliff, Bolingbrook, IL 60440.
We are located on the North East portion of Meyer Park near restroom facilities building. Meyers Park is located across the street from the Fountaindale Public Library on Briarcliff Road (just a little west of Route 53) in Bolingbrook, IL.
